End-July 2020 our equipment arrived safely back in Rotterdam, NL on board vessel SAL Lone from Anyala & Madu fields, located in shallow waters of Niger Delta, Nigeria.
Marine Platforms has awarded Blue Offshore Marine Services (BOMS) in mid-January 2020 a contract to support the SURF Installation & FPSO Hook-Up activities Offshore Nigeria. BOMS provided an 23m outer diameter basket carousel with two partition walls, specialized loading tower and complete technical and operational offshore crew to support the loading, transportation and installation of 3No umbilicals and 6No flex pipes.
Flexibility during offshore installation sequence was created by placement of two partition walls inside BOMS basket carousel. The 6No flex pipes were loaded at BOMS base in Rotterdam, NL and the 3No umbilicals in Hartlepool, UK. During the loading operations in Rotterdam, BOMS also provided, in cooperation with its partner Flowline Specialists, all resources like quay tensioner, underrollers, specialized spooling equipment, power supply and 24/7 crew.
Despite the challenges during covid-19 lockdown, the complete operation has been executed successfully. Many thanks to Marine Platforms for their professional collaboration.
