Project Overview
Reliance Industries’ Dhirubhai 1 & 3 Gas Fields Development is a large development in the Bay Bengal, near India, set up for the production of gas from 18 wells. During their employment with EPIC contractor Allseas, members of our team assisted with the installation of two 26.5km electro-hydraulic control umbilicals running from the landfall point to the offshore control & riser platform and two 13.5km umbilicals running from control & riser platform towards umbilical distribution hub.
Scope of Work
The scope of work for our team involved:
- Project management for design, engineering, procurement, survey and positioning, installation, testing and commissioning
- Interface management with client, cable manufacturers, designers, subcontractors and suppliers
- Engineering, procurement, installation and construction of umbilical installation equipment, including 2 No. 1,200 tonnes carousels and tensioners
- Dual-lay 26.5km umbilical with barge on anchors and alongside DP vessel from landfall point through river estuary to control & riser platform (100m water depth)
- Lay two times 13.5km umbilical with barge alongside DP vessel from control & riser platform to umbilical distribution hub (500m water depth), including pull-ins and lay-downs
- Burial with mechanical trencher Digging Donald, which was fully remote controlled by DP vessel Calamity Jane.
