Project Overview
Blue Offshore participates in the realization of the offshore Borkum Riffgrund 1 Wind Farm project. MEG Offshore 1 is approximately 60 km away from the German coast, and will be connected to the offshore converter station DolWin1. MEG Offshore 1 will feature 80 wind turbines, each rated at 5.0 megawatts, for a total output of 400 megawatts. The offshore wind farm is expected to generate enough electricity for approximately 220,000 households and is estimated to save approximately 450,000 tons of CO2 each year.
Cable Installation
For MEG Offshore 1, Blue Offshore will deliver its in-house designed turntable and additional equipment needed to install the two 13 kilometer sections of 155 kV high-voltage export submarine cables.
Project Planning
Construction is expected to start in 2013. Power supply is expected to start from 2014.
