Project Overview
Blue Offshore participates in the realization of the offshore Borkum Riffgrund 1 Wind Farm project. Borkum Riffgrund 1 is approximately 55 km away from the German coast, and will be connected to the offshore converter station DolWin1. Borkum Riffgrund 1 will feature 89 wind turbines, each rated at 3.6 megawatts, for a total output of 320 megawatts. The offshore wind farm is expected to generate enough electricity for approximately 330,000 households and is estimated to save approximately 360,000 tons of CO2 each year.
Cable Installation
For Borkum Riffgrund 1, Blue Offshore will deliver its in-house designed turntable and additional equipment needed to install two 13 km sections of 155 kV high-voltage export submarine cables.
Project Planning
Construction is expected to start in 2013. Power supply is expected to start from 2014.
